DINNER @ MY MUM'S CUISINE RESTAURANT, PARAGON, SINGAPORE

Fried Beansprout

With a name like Mum's, do you think this place will fail to impress? Sad to say, if looks are deceiving, then this has to be one of those: "Nice face, shame 'bout the legs!" kinda place. With its rustic look decor down to its Peranakan marble-top table, it's trying too hard to please with its looks and food. It has most of the food you'd expect from a Hokkien mum... and then some more - like a Char-Sui stand repleted with Hainanese chickens.! However, if you're looking for a taste of Nonya, this is not the place.

Oyster Omelette (like it's said: truly an omelette)

Lamb Stew with a dash of Nonya Chap Chai

Ngoh Hiang (some call it Lo-Bak)

Ipoh Sotong (crunchy stuff!)

If food can talk, Mum's the Word!!! Unless you just came out of the wilderness, I'd rather you eat at your mum's.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...

May the Farce be With You!
