FISH & SHRIMP SOUP @ SUNCO FOOD CENTRE, JALAN TUN AHMAD ZAIDI ADRUCE, KUCHING

If you like hot and soury stuff, this may suit your palate. The 'hot' is from the chilli, and the 'sour' is from the preserved plum (Sn'g Poi). One can order rice or Teochew porridge to go with it.

It's basically ginger, chillies, seaweed, fish and shrimps dumped into fish broth. Nothing much to it, but simply delicious... like those 'assammy' feeling, you'll be begging for more after consuming it.

Alternatively, you can opt for the fish or seafood Muay (porridge), shown in the photo below. You have to request for the "hot and sour" option if so desire. The fish used is called Engko-Hu (Parrot Fish), and liquidized vinegar chilli is served as dipping sauce.

This stall opens for the evening only, and closes once a month (which day I forget). If you Google Earth : Kuching, you'll find this place a block south of "Buy cheap stuff here".

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
