NASI BYRANI @ BOMBAY MASALA, LORONG NANAS 3, KUCHING

Honey Roast Chicken With Byrani Rice

Ain't you hungry? Ain't you hungry? Ain't you hungry for a Byrani now? (Apologies to Burger King). Bummer, most of these Indian Muslim shops are closed for the fasting month. Just whetting your appetite...

This is one of the 4 Muslim/Indian eateries on this stretch of a short street - all selling identical stuff. You can go
Hopscotching on these; they are all equally good. However, this one is the newest of the lot with air-conditioned seating area.

The honey-coated chicken retains its moisture and gives it the gloss, but not too sweet though. It's a change from the normal chicken that comes with the Byrani rice, although that can be had too. There's the standard accompaniments of pickled vegetables, dhal curry and
papadums.

For those who venture into pick-your-food in the chafing dish section (as seen below) are at the whims and mercy of the person who determines your meal cost. Sometimes it makes me wonder: either the people who patronizes this sort of eateries are well off, or the restaurateurs are filthy rich. On average they cost about RM7
or more per plate.

Well, a change of the same old, same old is good for the palate, but not necessarily the wallet.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
