CLAYPOT SHRIMP NOODLE @ WAN SOON SEAFOOD RESTAURANT, SARIKEI HIGHWAY

If you're on your way to Sibu from Kuching by road, you won't miss this place. It wasn't our intended pit stop; I was looking for the big shrimp noodle shop featured in some Chinese newspaper, but wasn't sure which was the one among the various coffee shops on both sides of the road (outskirt of Sarikei, next to Shell gas station). Most of the customers were having rice at 2:30 p.m. on the opposite side of the road, and there wasn't any shrimp noodle in sight, and this shop had "seafood" written on its signboard. So I thought, it's the one. Boy, was I wrong!

Anyway, the noodle soup wasn't bad with generous amount of shrimps in there - of moderate size. Flavorful soup with curly veg. and tomato wedges to boot. The price: RM11 per claypot - not too shabby a price. We paid RM36 for 3 pots, plus 2 Teh-C-Peng and one soft drink. However, whatever bliss we had was short-lived; those who drank the tea came down with bouts of shitsky for the next couple of days!

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
