KAMPUA & PIAN NIK @ PEKING RESTAURANT, SARIKEI HIGHWAY

This is the one... the shrimp noodle coffee shop that was featured in the local papers. Missed out on it the last trip, so I thought on the return trip I'd nip by to have a taste. Wrong! Wrong timing to be precise; I was there at 7 in the morning this time round. The back kitchen wasn't open, and the only thing going was the Kampua Mee. So there we were, having to content with what the locals were having.

The Kampua was quite good, as Kampua goes. Even the Char-Sui (roast pork) was authentic down to its paste-on color. The Pian Nik was even better... plum with enough minced pork to satisfy any
Wonton lover. Wish they had rein in their dogs better than to let them wee-wee in front of the eating guests inside the coffee shop.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
