MY RESTAURANT VISIT # 9 @ SAMA JAYA, KUCHING

Mixed Grill

It's been quite a while since I dropped in on Walter. There's been changes during my absence. The first thing I noticed upon entering the premise was that the scribbled menu on the blackboard is gone - the slate's been wiped clean. And Walter was bellowing from the kitchen: "Pick from the menu." Indeed, there is a newly minted menu.

Chop Chop Chop

From what we picked out, they are mostly crowd pleasers, with permutations of meats in varying degree of exposing its sizzling sides:

Mixed Grill - Pork rib, pork chop, bacon, lamb chop and sausage
Chop Chop Chop - Chicken, bacon and 'Hiyiee' - one from Miss Piggy
BBQ Combo - Pork, chicken, Bacon and sausage with fries and onion rings
Devil's Belly - Hot Pork Belly and spicy sausage (additional side order)
Lamb Shoulder - The name says it all

BBQ Combo

In varying degrees, they are reworked from the old menu plus those on the blackboard; refined to suit the whims of the local palate. The makeover is more focused and straight forward. That's why doing away with the antiquated menu is the next best thing... but can you scribble something to the board when you're all fired up again, Walter? Pretty please?!!!

Devil's Belly With Spicy Sausage

Dr. Carolyn, I mentioned to Walter 'bout your gushing of his cooking. Introduce yourself the next time you're there, he might whip up something good for you; he reads this blog too.

If his food has someone drooling all the way from N.Z., what more can I say?

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...

May the Farce be With You!
