CONCEPT VS. REALITY

Remember a episode of Ally McBeal about having a theme song in life? Bill Clinton had Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" as his campaign theme song; Will I Am wrote one for Obama, taking cues from his campaign's speeches.

In Malaysia, however, our prime minister creates a theme, not so much based on a song, but a theme to "choo-choo" the country forward, after the dust has settled, ie. after being elected. There was the Islam Hadhari in the not too distant past. Who can ever forget the mess that it created...

... and now, we have the 1Malaysia Concept, hopefully it will be a worthwhile legacy. What actually does 1Malaysia boil down to?

Author's Note: Apologies to those who don't understand Hokkien. Meaning will be lost in the translation. And to those who understands Hokkien, go figure... think metaphorically!!!
Hint: 3rd. one down calls his own race, " Dayaks lack element of smartness." Probably that's why BN won the Batang Ai seat with a promise of RM70 million development projects dangled in front of the electorates, while they are still waiting for the land promised them 25 years ago.

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
