Right after Yum-Cha, we took a stroll to Federation Square. There was a fete celebrating the Buddha's birthday, which was a few weeks later than the Wesak back home. Although my niece, who was a volunteer in the event, passed us the food voucher, we didn't have any food. Food was the last thing on the mind.
This is no different from the ones we get back at home except there are no politicians reminding us that "We should be grateful!", or treat everyone as moronic retards with a cautionary "For Non-Muslims only!" warning.
