LUNCH @ NONYA COLORS, ONE UTAMA, PJ, SELANGOR

Have been searching for a adjustable madolin for the past 3 days, and today I got lucky; meaning it's within my budget. It's one-tenth of the price from the one I saw at Sri Hartamas. It's plastic as opposed to stainless steel. Hey, what do I care? I'm only a weekend pretend-chef. Speaking of which, I have yet to take it out of the box and play with it. I know, I've been slacking... like taking the camera out of the holster and do some shooting, keeping in tandem with the mouth.

Anyway, we're at this mall, just browsing and waiting for lunch time to happen. And the only thing I got on this trip is the 'above mentioned'. Rather pathetic when one's options diminish with years. So on most excursions, food thrives on this feeble mind, or is it the other way around?

LUNCH @ GOURMET EMPORIUM, PAVILLION KUALA LUMPUR, KL

From the look of the picture up there, you know it's so yesterday! What can I say? It's the middle of March already, and here I'm, still reminiscing over January... tempus fugit!

Truth be told, I haven't been to this mall before; the last time I was in the vicinity, there was still an enclosure surrounding the plot of land across Bintang Walk. Yeah, I know, it's been that long! So what you're about to read is probably stale and Chow-S'ng already!

LUNCH @ SAO NAM, HARTAMAS SHOPPING CENTRE, SRI HARTAMAS, KL

The trouble with eating something, especially foreign, and not writing jotting it down immediately is this....

RESTORAN HAU KEE SEAFOOD, 12, JLN. KASKAS 2, TAMAN CHERAS, K.L.

What started out as my unbashful self-invited/tag-along and "lompang" at a friend of a friend's place in K.L. years ago has developed into an lunar makan affair; that's when the Foos are in Kuching for the Chinese New Year. Ocassionally, I still put up at their place whenever I go a-visiting, and due to his 'connections' we've dined at Madam Kwan's a number of times. And there's a mention of going to her grandson's restaurant, Grandmama's, way before its opening; however, there's a slight change of plan...

RESTAURANT THE FRUTTI STALL @ 66, JLN. 7, KEPONG, K.L.

For someone who has to rely on the GPS for getting around, my brother-in-law seems to be apt at finding this place without any navigational aid, but with some uncertainty. Nevertheless, we manage to find parking at the adjacent street on a subdued Saturday.

This "Open-Air" (as Sarawakians call it) is the last place I would expect to be brought for lunch (a bit of that later). It's at a junction of a busy thoroughfare. The signage above the structure that holds all the eateries looks promising despite its outwardly appearance. I'm about to find out what the fuss is all about...

ABOUT THIS BLOG

As the name implies, it's all about nothing! Kongkaying is like grasping in the air - more like hot air with occasional fartulence. Hopefully, something aromatic will come out of it! If not...
